England stays in Group A for the third time in a row
Since 2004, when we were promoted to Group A, England has been gaining more and more respect in International Roller Hockey. Although I was not happy with the initial preparation of the team we came here and we did a great job. To compensate for the lack of preparation training in England I was lucky enough to have come to know the players over a long period and they in turn know what I want and expect from them. The defensive play worked very well but in attack we need more training to create automatic play. Therefore I will be assessing the way to prepare the Seniors team for the next Europeans in 2010 and the World A competition in 2011, which will be held in Mozambique.

TVD is now looking to secure a 3 year deal with the NRHA, where our President will meet with the TVD Director to sign a protocol after the World's A Championships.
Also, I am pleased to announce an agreement has been reached with Azemad to supply their Sticks free of charge for every player participating in World's A 2009.
This agreement also provides for any player to receive a replacement stick free of charge, if they break an Azemad stick whilst participating in the following tournaments:

Spanish Training Camp - 2009
I am very pleased to announce that I have been booked by a Spanish club to run a Summer camp in Barcelona in the second week of July. I travel with the Seniors Team to the World A Championships in the first week of July and then travel onwards to the Spanish Camp for the following week.
December National Training
The player list for National Training is now available to download here
The schedule for National Training is available here
In July I decided to start the Projects 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 in September 2009.
To ensure that I had the commitment from parents and players, I sent a form to be signed and returned to me. However, to date, I have only received around 50% of them and I know that some players/parents are very interested in these projects but still have not returned the forms.
I have decided to progress these Projects without the forms and announce the project squads taking in consideration the National Training Weekend attendance. The Project Squads are in place but because I have a few question marks in each project, I have decided to carry on one last assessment at this month's National Training.
I will publish the Project Squads prior to January National Training Weekend and any changes to the groups will be implemented from January 2010.
All the Project Squads will share time on the rink with other projects.
For example, Project 2012 will have share time with 2013 and 2011, this way we can develop our teams to a higher standard.
It is imperative for all the players that will be announced in the Project Squads to attend every National Training or at least 10 out 12 in a year and the players will be asked to attend at least one camp, one trip abroad as well as extra sessions during school holidays.
More details about National training can be found under the National Training Tab

National Project Squads
I will be announcing the Project Squads 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 after July National Training Weekend
These projects will start in September 2009 and will consist of 2/3 goalkeepers and 12/13 players.
I will pass a document to all the parents regarding the projects and I will need a confirmation from them about their commitment as I am intending to run these projects the same way we have done with 2010 which has been very successful.
I would like to emphasise that I will announce a maximum of 15 players (including goalkeepers) and it is possible that some players will not be named in the squads, although they can still train in their group age at National Training Weekends. This way I will ensure players develop properly to achieve the objectives for England to be very competitive at International level.
Finally I may change players from one project to another and it is also possible that I may replace players already named in the project with a player that has not been originally named in the squad.
If this is the case then it will be discussed with the player and their parents.

For the third year in a row England Roller Hockey teams are participating in one the most pretigious tournaments in Portugal. This year I have decided to take a Minors Team, (players born in 1996 & 1997) and an Intermediates(players born in 1994) team.
